Cosplay Tip of the Day: Caring for Wigs!
Keeping your wig in tip-top shape is very important! You don’t want to have to keep buying the same wig over and over again just because it’s tangled!
If you wig is tangled, then dunk the wig in hot water for about 10-20 mins. Let it hang dry. After it’s almost dry, spray it with a lot (and I do mean a lot) of de-tangling spray. Run your fingers through the tangles, don’t worry if your wig sheds a little, this is normal. Then let it completely dry, and keep spraying it with de-tangler until all the knots are out.
This will allow you to keep your wig longer without spending all your money on new wigs every con! Good Luck!

“Someone once told me that a girl in a wheelchair could never be considered gorgeous by society and, gosh forbid, be accepted as a model. I like to think I’m doing my fair share of proving them wrong.”

Cosplay Tip of the Day: Sewing With knits/spandex/jersey (Anything with stretch in it)
Ok this one can be tricky! mainly because if you stretch out the fabric too much it can pucker or if you don’t stretch it out at all, it will be too loose. The best way is to practice with the fabric you plan to use for said cosplay before buying lots of yards for it. Start with something easy like a t-shirt or a skirt.
Putting zippers in your costume can be tricky as well, because if you stretch the fabric too much the zipper will become bumpy and won’t lay flat against your body. So when putting zippers in body suits or leotards, be sure not to stretch your fabric while doing so or you will have to take it out and start again.
Using a Serger (overlock) machine is the best (& easiest) way to sew knits. However if you don’t have one, then using the zig-zag stitch on your machine works just as well. Using the zig-zag stitch allows the thread to stretch with the fabric so it won’t pop when you move around.
Keep trying & good luck!
SO CUTE!!!

I doubt that that this little public service announcement will do much to change the current trend of objectification in the cosplay world, but perhaps we cosplayers can collectively stamp out at least a few of the misconceptions surrounding our hobby. Thanks for reading!”
